You can also hike to the bird-cliffs - a fairly pleasant walk which takes about two hours. Reaching the cliff edge, your effort will be fully rewarded by the view over Djúpini. Maps indicating the routes are  to be purchased in Debesar Shop. When you purchase a map, you support the landowners in their maintenance of fences and gates.

The trip also takes you to the refreshing water spring at Háls - a favoured resting place for the local shepherds. You look down on Ambadal, a beautiful valley all covered in grass except for a single stone, Festirsteinur, which, of course, also has its own story...
